Letters to a Young Contrarian Chapter 14 Analysis
"Of course if the oddballs and doubters were in majority they wouldn't be oddballs and doubters. And of course, one never has to worry about there being a surplus of such people".
I thought that this quote was very interesting. Most people go throughout there lives not thinking outside of the box and questioning authority. These people are not thought of as unique or oddballs. Oddballs are the inventors, Steve Jobs would have definitely been labeled an oddball. Without these oddballs breakthroughs wouldn't happen and inventions wouldn't take place.
Chapter 15:
"I want to urge you very strongly to travel as much as you can, and to evolve yourself as an internationalist. Its as important a part of your education as a radical as the reading of any book".
I totally agree with this statement. I always want to travel because I believe it is important to see other culture and the way other people live to open your mind to new ideas. You become more open minded and tolerant. Technology helps this, people that do not have the means to travel can be exposed by movie about different cultures and places. Technology is making the wold smaller in that sense.
